Q What is your advice on planning an autumn wedding?
A Hollie Weeks says: Autumn is a season rich with beautiful florals that naturally reflect the warmth and depth of the season, so embrace those seasonal blooms. Some popular autumnal flowers include dahlias, chrysanthemums, marigolds, sunflowers, and zinnias.

To capture the essence of autumn, focus on a colour palette that includes rich reds, burnt oranges, golden yellows, and rustic browns. Flowers like toffee roses are always a popular choice. You might also consider adding accents of cream or blush to soften the palette.

Incorporating foliage is key to enhancing the theme. For a more rustic feel, you can add dried wheat, branches or even berries like hypernicum or viburnum. These elements will add texture and depth to your arrangements. Autumn flowers and foliage can also bring amazing fragrance to your wedding. Consider incorporating scented greenery or herbs like rosemary and sage.

To make your floral arrangements uniquely autumnal, consider including non-floral elements like pine cones, acorns, or even small pumpkins or gourds. These can be woven into tablescaping for a distinctive seasonal touch.

Work with your florist to ensure that the floral arrangements complement your venue and overall wedding theme. For example, if you're getting married in a rustic barn, consider using wooden containers or mason jars for your arrangements. If your wedding is more formal, think about the possibility of gold or copper vases.

How Do We Make A Bug Impact With Our Floral Decor On A Limited Budget?

How Do We Make A Bug Impact With Our Floral Decor On A Limited Budget?

Q What is your advice on overcoming the most common planning conerns?
A Jenny Hopkin says: Planning a wedding on an tight budget doesn't mean you have to sacrifice making a big impact. Here are some tips to help you maximise your floral arrangements without breaking the bank.

First, focus on the essentials: the bridal bouquet and the groom's buttonhole. Ensuring these are covered will give you peace of mind. For bridesmaid bouquets or arrangements, consider using a mix of different foliages or a mass of one type of flower, such as gypsophila. This approach creates a striking effect and works beautifully against colourful bridesmaid dresses or plain walls and tablecloths.

Another tip is to ask your florist to create one or two stunning larger arrangements. These can be used for your ceremony and then moved to the breakfast room. While they may seem like a significant investment, they add height and interest to the room, allowing you to opt for lower or smaller arrangements for individual tables, thereby reducing costs.

Trusting your florist to choose seasonal blooms can also stretch your budget. Being flexible with the types of flowers allows your florist to pick varieties that are in abundance and better value, as flower costs can vary due to weather conditions and growing seasons.
