Almonry Barn
Almonry Barn is a magnificent, 800-year-old barn with an endless amount of character, and filled with light. From the hayracks in the stable bar to the hayloft ceremony room, it’s a magical place to spend your special day.
The interior is stylish, with honey-coloured beams and original mill machinery in place, complete with stonework in apricot tones. From the Hayloft ceremony room to the galleried Parlour, you’ll find elegance in every part of the Barn. Believed to be England’s oldest wedding barn, it sits opposite a medieval abbey and church in a historical village setting among an old apple orchard.
The Hayloft is an impressive light-filled space, open to the ceiling rafters and ready for you to add some personal touches. It’s steeped in history with 13th-century protection charms carved into the ancient wood structure by the neighbouring monks. It can host 100 loved ones for the ceremony.
Receptions are hosted in the Threshing Barn situated below the Hayloft. This charming blend of history and sophistication captures the essence of a romantic countryside celebration, with twinkling fairylights and apricot hues from the honeyed beams and stones. Once you’ve finished feasting, you and your loved ones can enjoy games on the lawn, take a drink in the Stable Bar complete with hay racks and stalls, or simply dance the night away. The Threshing Barn can also accommodate 100 nearest and dearest.
The venue offers two nights’ accommodation, which is included as part of your wedding package.
