Labour's plan to legalise humanist weddings
We are deep in the midst of wedding season. Whether you're attending as a guest, or planning your own,...
A stunning 19th-century house located on the very edge of Bristol in rural Wrington, the venue boasts nine beautifully decorated bedrooms, five bathrooms – each with roll-top baths, and a kitchen and dining space for a relaxing stay over the course of your wedding weekend. With exclusive use of the house from Friday to Sunday, you can really take in the history and charm of Barley Wood in your own time.
Benefiting from 11 acres of grounds with remarkable views across to the Mendip Hills, Barley Wood offers an incredible backdrop to your big day. From exploring the woodland to taking in the vista, this is a wonderful place to enjoy the great outdoors.
Each of the venue's ceremony spaces can host 100 nearest and dearest. The beautiful Morning Room is a fully-accessible, bright, airy and welcoming spot, which gives your "I dos" an intimate feel. The Dorothy Lillie Hall on the other hand is a grand space, large and inviting, with tall ceilings and panelled walls.
For al fresco vows the Summer House is the place to be, offering views right across to the Mendip Hills. Ceremonies take place sheltered by the raised structure, overlooking the patio and gardens where guests are seated.
Receptions for 120 guests are held throughout the house, which is entirely yours for the weekend. From a drinks reception on the patio, to a disco in the Morning Room the choice is yours and there's plenty of space for everyone to celebrate.
